Paula studied dance in her teens and soon followed the trend (back then) of becoming an aerobics instructor and later a personal trainer. She first trained as a Classical Pilates teacher in 2007 after making the discovery that Pilates is much more than exercise. As a teacher, Paula continues her own personal and professional development on a daily basis and passes on her knowledge and wisdom to her students.
Of course, Pilates is a great way to tone and sculpt your muscles, but if you really put your mind into it you can teach your body how to move in a truly free and liberating way. The body is a lot like a naughty child and without the control of the mind it will simply do as it pleases.
Paula's experience has taught her that people exercise for many different reasons but, mainly to feel good about themselves. If movement has become painful or restricted it is the bodies way of letting you know something is wrong.

have been attending pilates classes with Paula for a long time, having searched for the perfect teacher over many previous years.
Sometimes you find such a dynamic facilitator that you do not want to share and this is one of those moments. It would however be self defeating to keep her to myself and as I want to benefit from many more classes, I recommend this unique and talented teacher highly.
Before I started Pilates I was struggling with severe back pain which I put down to age. It hurt me to get out of bed in the morning and I struggled to bend down to tie laces. Although I loved walking, I was often out of breath and without core control, bladder control was sometimes an issue. I also disliked the words exercise, gym, fitness, health.
Today I don't recognise myself as the issues described above do not exist anymore. I can touch my toes (last done as a teenager). Use of my core is an integral part of my daily life and although I sometimes have to consciously remember, Paula has given me the tools to do this. She is generous in sharing her knowledge with her students and it is obvious to see how much she loves the discipline. Not only do I now know how to do an exercise, Paula will also show you why.
Classes are a highlight of my week (did I actually write/say this?) I guess I have indeed come a long way.
